Head of Microbiology and Biotoxins Area
PhD in Biology, experience in Cell biology, physiology, marine biotoxins and microbiology. Several years at the University teaching and doing research. Responsible for the investigation in the toxins and microbiology area, in ANFACO and leader of different research projects.
In BioCop involved in WP5: Assessment of purity and composition of toxin through HPLC and/or mass spectrometry. Also, preliminary evaluation of prototype assay kits prepared by XenosenseWP12 and 13: Training and demonstration activities for PSP methods to stakeholders
Areas of interest: Food quality and safety, mainly seafood and fish: Microbiological contaminants, marine biotoxins and in vitro toxicology of toxic compounds.
